In the rush to get to school, many students may skip breakfast, which can affect school performance and test scores.
For this reason, Tulsa Public Schools is excited to expand its breakfast cart program.
Tulsa Public Schools Chef Tim Anderson says the carts offer many healthy options like breakfast rolls, fruit, and bran muffins.
“The carts are placed in strategic areas where you know the river, where the kids are from, and so they just run by, pick it up, and go to class,” said Anderson.
He says they were donated 32 carts from Midwest Dairy, which makes the expansion a lot easier.
