To participate in the program, individuals must be permanent residents of the United States, have a constant income, be at least 18 years old, currently live outside of Oklahoma, and be able to work remotely and commit to doing so To move to Tulsa and live there for at least a year.
For the past several years, Tulsa Remote has had an application deadline and a limited number of applications, but in 2019 the program began an on-going application and admissions process with no restrictions, CEO Ben Stewart said.
So far, more than 50,000 people have applied. Remote workers from Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, and other Fortune 500 companies have relocated the program.
“Since Tulsa Remote launched in 2018, we’ve been delighted with both the quantity and quality of our applications,” said Stewart. “Tulsa Remote has now hosted more than 600 people in Tulsa and has welcomed more than 90% of its members by integrating with the broader Tulsa community through member induction activities in Oklahoma, providing coworking space in partnership with 36 Degrees North and Community offer volunteer and service opportunities. “
