TULSA, okla. – Police have identified the teenager who was shot dead outside an East Tulsa venue on Sunday.
Tulsa police were called to a shooting at a mall near 31st and Memorial at around 1 a.m. Sunday. When they got there, officials said they found cartridge cases in the parking lot in front of the venue.
Police later found out that two people who were involved in the shooting had been driven to the hospital.
The first victim, 18-year-old Demarcos Rodriguez, died as a result of her injuries. The second victim was shot in the leg and remains in the hospital.
Investigators believe a fight broke out during a birthday party at the venue that resulted in a shooting in the parking lot.
Witnesses said homicide detectors the suspects may have driven south after the shooting at Memorial.

The gunshot death is Tulsa’s 79th murder in 2020.
A GoFundMe page was started by Rodriguez’s family.
Balloons, candles, and a picture of Rodriguez were placed in the spot where he was killed as a memorial.
