Coming soon to a theater near you: The program selection for the Tulsa branch of the Sundance Film Festival 2021 has been announced. Which films will debut in Tulsa?

In December, news came that the prestigious Sundance Film Festival, held annually in Park City, Utah, is adapting to the COVID-19 era by having its 2021 festival in 20 theaters across the US, including Tulsa’s Circle Cinema, introduces.

The festival will take place digitally through a feature-rich online platform created by Sundance, and in-person screenings across the country on satellite screens such as the one in Tulsa, whenever public health permits.

Festival goers can gather online in virtual waiting rooms, attend live Q-and-A sessions, and gather in new environments to interact in a new and familiar way. This emerges from a press release.

The publication said Circle Cinema is proud to partner with the festival to bring a selection of the program to Tulsa with screenings at the Circle Cinema and Admiral Twin Drive-In.

“As Oklahoma’s only satellite monitor, it will be a great opportunity to see major festival films in Tulsa. This is a truly incredible and diverse list of films from around the world, ”said Chuck Foxen, Circle Cinema programmer.

“The safe presentation of the festival is also our top priority,” said Clark Wiens, co-founder and CEO of Circle Cinema. “We are pleased that Tulsa can enjoy these films from the comfort of their own vehicles at the Admiral Twin Drive-In or as per Circle Cinema’s COVID-19 protocols for indoor screenings approved by the Tulsa Health Department as under CDC guidelines were. “
