KBI says man needed in reference to Iola murders shot himself in Tulsa – Information – The Topeka Capital-Journal

A person of concern wanted in connection with the deaths of two people in Iola, southeast Kansas, was shot dead Friday when approached by police in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced Friday that the Iola police were called shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday to 114 S. Kentucky in Iola, where two people were found dead.
Officers found a man and his daughter had died from gunshot wounds.
The woman was identified as Molly E. Wilson, 36, and the man as John Tadlock, 69.
Authorities said they were looking for 38-year-old Ben Converse in connection with the deaths.
Converse was located by the KBI, the Tulsa Police Department and the Broken Arrow Police Department on Friday around 5:15 p.m., the KBI said. He fled police officers and when they approached him near 66th Street and Mingo in Tulsa, he turned to face them and shot himself with a pistol.
Converse was rushed to a Tulsa hospital where the KBI said he was being treated for a life-threatening wound.
