“I’m interested in building artists and projects that are already happening in Tulsa by having this space to give our local artists new opportunities.”
Gathering Place also offers extensive arts, education, wellness, and outdoor programs for children.
Henderson, 41, has toured the country monitoring parks, including their customer relationships, security, and parking security.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment and recreation industries, most recently serving as General Manager of Myrtle Waves, a 21-acre water park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
“This is my first experience in a place where no entry is free,” he said. “I will run the maintenance and attractions of the facility in a very similar way to the private sector. But the great thing is that the Tulsans don’t have to pay for it. “
Henderson grew up in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and graduated from the University of Arkansas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
“What attracted me to the park is that there is nothing like it – nowhere. To be one of the guys on the first floor with the option to run this park – what a great honor. “
